PREPARING FOR YOUR TRIP

Prepare yourself for an unforgettable adventure! Prior to our departure, it's essential to ensure you have all the necessary items for the upcoming journey.

  • What to pack? The sailboat is a small space, with everything you need. Therefore our luggage must be the same. Wheeled suitcases are NOT recommended to take on board. Pack your luggage in carry-on suitcases for better organization. We recommend packing: Swimsuits, Swimsuits, Beach Flags, Sunscreen, waterproof camera, waterproof protectors for electronic equipment, organic mosquito repellent, Light sandals, Personal hygiene products, books, chargers, medications prescription drugs and motion sickness pills.

  • Passport & ID : Take your original passport or ID with you. Your last entrance to the country will be checked by the authorities.

  • Dizziness on board: Hours before your departure, if you suffer easily from dizziness, we recommend taking a pill, one of the most common commercial brands such as Dramamine or Mareol.

  • Cash: In San Blas there are no ATMs, banks, or minimarts nearby. Be sure to exchange cash, BEFORE your departure. To make the corresponding cancellation payments and purchases on the spot. Your charter can be cancelled if you do not pay upon arrival

  • Mobile Internet Signal and Connection: In San Blas, the telephone companies that operate are Más Movil and Tigo. Some boats provide Starlink connection, usage under discretion of the each captain or owner. 

  • Electricity: Sailboats generate energy through solar panels, wind and generators. Taking care of the energy inside a boat is very common. During a sunny day it is possible to make open use of the energy, when night falls, depending on each boat, the engine or generator can be turned on for a few minutes to ensure sufficient energy during the night. Be sure to take care of the use of energy on board.

  • Water: Each sailboat has a water generator or drinking water collection. In any case, the prudent use of fresh water on board is essential and part of the experience of life on board. Showers are usually one per day and you must ensure that the salt water is removed every time you enter the interior of the sailboat to avoid salification.

  • Government on board: Each sailboat has its captain who has the right to use and make decisions in order to ensure the collective safety of his crew. Therefore, all the commands that he/she indicates that are in favor of his/her personal and collective safety must be carried out immediately. No question asked.

  • Commands and Introductory Security Talk: Upon arrival on board, the crew will share general information about your stay and correct use of the facilities. In addition to sharing important personal and collective security information.

CREW

  • The journey isn't a guided tour, yet the crew is equipped to assist you in maximizing your time aboard. Safety takes precedence, with your comfort following closely. Understand that crew availability for socializing may vary due to their duties. Each captain operates uniquely but focuses primarily on safe navigation. Some boats have hired or rotating captains; inquire for details, though assignments may change. Captains may be local or expatriates, with an English-speaking crewmember always present. Learn about each captain via provided bios. Open communication with the crew is vital for addressing concerns and questions, fostering a positive environment for all passengers. Teamwork enhances the overall trip experience.

Booking and Payment:

  • Quotation: Captains set their own trip prices, consistent across all booking platforms. The price vary based on type of boat and cabin choice. Reach out for precise pricing, as rates may fluctuate with the season, as well. 

  • Confirmed Booking: you have decided to book, send us a message via email or whatsapp, add quantity of guests and check in/out dates.  We will ask between 15% and 20% of the total amount as confirmation of your booking. Remaining will be paid upon arrival to the boat in cash.

  • Transportation Logistics: We will provide you of the authorized companies available to arrange tranportation, to and from San Blas. Upon your preference, You can choose arriving / departing by land or by plane.

  • Bring with you: Original Passport Light Clothes Swimwear,  Hat and flipflops Sun block and Aloe Vera Light luggage Camera and phone Waterproof cases and bags Cash - No ATM in the area.

  • Check in: 9:00AM / Check out: 7:00AM

  • LATE Check out: 3:00PM  EXTRA PAYMENT OF 50% OF ONE NIGHT.

  • Deposit: 10-20% are not refundable.  

  • Remaining: Pay upon your arrival to the boat in cash. By not being able to pay in cash, your charter can be dismissed inmediately.

  • Change dates: Once free. Apply cancellation policy. second change: may or may not apply charges.  Depending on availability of boats when you re-schedule, the price of the boat may vary. 

  • Cancellations by the guest:  no refund of the deposit. if you need to cancel, we can schedule once again for free, only if you cancel 21 days before the date of reservation.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS:

We are a booking agency, Each boat is privately owned and operated. Captains may deny passage or alter plans as needed for passenger safety and comfort. Upon boarding, the captain assumes full responsibility and authority for ensuring quality service throughout the journey providing the standard of service that we have worked to offer you.
 

Ensure clear communication with the captain of the reserved boat, to comply with the entry and cancellation policies on board.

We are not responsible for weather conditions, government decisions, legal disobedience or other action that goes against public order. We do our best to keep you updated in time on decisions outside our range.

The food and drinks included are offered solely and exclusively by the captain and his crew and each one has a unique menu. We adapt to the greatest extent possible, in completing your dietary regimens and particular preferences.

Terms and conditions of the boat and reserved crew will be communicated days prior to arrival.

You are staying in the home of a family or couple. It is an intercultural experience with your hosts and the Guna indigenous village. So adaptation is a great tool to enjoy this trip to its fullest potential.

Each guest is responsible for their personal belongings. The crew and we are not responsible for lost or stolen items.

Adventure Travel is inherently risky. By booking with us you accept the risks and discharge responsibility to the crew, shipowners, agencies and intermediaries.

Sailing and being on a boat involve inherent risks and uncertainties. By engaging in our sailing charter services, you acknowledge and voluntarily assume these risks, both known and unknown, and you agree that TriponBoats, its owners, employees, and agents are not liable for any injury, damage, or loss that may occur as a result of these risks.
